A logistics business with 4 sites in the UK was providing a warehouse operation and service for M&S and other UK retailers.
The temporary labour service provided varied across the four sites and there was no provision of management information or control of costs. There were several labour providers with contracts with the business; the quality of the staff provided was generally poor and inconsistent, with a real lack of management visibility.
The business operated with 104 different pay rates which not only provided an administrative burden but also meant control of costs or forecasting of labour costs was very difficult.
Industrious undertook a full review of the business including activities and pay rates.
From this we presented a structure which had just 4 pay rates. The business was impressed with the simplicity and practicality of the structure and as such we took over as sole supplier at all locations.
At peak we have provided and managed over 900 people through dedicated contract managers and through the provision of consolidated management information by site savings of over £100,000 were delivered.
